My Tigertooth jujube was planted five years ago, same situation, but I'm not giving up hope. All things come to he who waits...

My contorted So gave a couple fruit the first 2 years, but nothing from the Li I bought at the same time. The So has really taken off this year and added about 20 contorted branches. The Li I had to move, but it has lots of flowers. The rootstock on the So was incredibly vigorous.

The Li did well this year, and it had about 20 fruit.

The So only had one, but grew a lot branches, and in 3 years it has gone from a stick to a nice moderately contorted little tree about 2 m tall and 1.5 wide. Still thorny!

The So grown faster than I expected, the Li a little slower.

I also sprouted a couple trees from So seed and propagated some Li root suckers.

Just an update on my jujubes.

In 2011 the So had a couple vigorous leaders, and this year (2012) it has about 20 branches with vigorous growth, not all at the tips. I trimmed a few lower and crossing limbs, but its developing a nice big bushy shape on its own. but that's not to say it isn't also going vertical

Both trees are blooming early this year.

It looks like the So will have several hundred fruit. I would guess that it has a couple thousand flowers this year, and I don't know if should expect that much fruit or if some of it will drop. It's all fruit, the tree will really be loaded down.

The Li is lagging a little bit because I moved it a couple years ago, but it's about 8 ft tall and has about 10 branches with strong growth mainly at the tips. I expect it to have more than 100 fruit - there are a couple hundred little flowers.

The Li is not too upright because the young branches are so soft, despite it being tied to a pole. Maybe next winter I'll consider pruning for an upright shape. Or I'll add a second pole and treat it like a weeping ornamental. Here's some trained to an umbrella shape:

I have sprouted the seeds of these trees. I don't know if they will be hybrid or what sort of fruit to expect.
