A Plug For A Good Product

Postby Preston Sturges » Fri Feb 27, 2009 11:48 am

For those of you tilling the garden, please check out the heavy duty hoes from easydigging.com. I have several types of their tools, and the quality, cost, and customer service have been top notch. These tools are used all over the world, except in the US. They are incredibly efficient and ergonomic, making them the tools I reach for first. This is a small business that could use our support. I'm just a customer, but they have been a really good company to deal with.

And I'm just Santa Claus...

Get a Sow Tooth (Sauzahn) aka Hog Tooth or Fang Hoe: Image
This is a tool with one prong and a long handle! It is for in-depth and careful loosening of ground.
AND it is realy easy to use.

If you are looking for great hand tools I would also recommend checking out
http://www.earthtoolsbcs.com/html/garden_tools.html
They also sell Italian made walk behind tillers (hand tractors). Their products are coming pretty much solely from various parts of Europe and are very high quality. The hand tools are a bit more expensive but will last a lifetime compared to what you would buy in most stores...

There is also a store in MD I believe which sells great hand tools & hand tractors (they get their grillo's from earth tools) but I can't remember their name right now, if I do I'll post it.

Purple Mountain Organics: Grillo Walk-Behind Tractors

I think this is the company you were referring to, in Tacoma Park, MD.

They sell a number of products, including Grillo walk-behind tractors that run on biodiesel.

I've been getting good use from the grub hoe and heavy triangular hoe. They slice out the Bahia grass root mass, which is a horrible tangle of roots and rhizomes.
