Dragon Fruit White - Hylocereus polyrizus
Dragon Fruit halved Our variety of tropical white fleshed dragon fruit(Hylocereusm)is Vietnamese Jaina. A large fruit with a waxy red outside and a white fleshed inside, spotted with small soft edible seeds. We look forward to these delicious fruits grown in our greenhouse that ripen here July - September. Dragon fruits are also known as pitaya and orchid cactus. Dragon fruit is a vineing succulent with gorgeous, large, night blooming white flowers followed by vivid exotic fruit. Plant does extremely well in pots and is usually trellised. For those who can grow them outside, they are a useful addition ornamentally as well as nutritionally. Jaina is self- fertile, meaning it can fruit without a different variety. Space 8-10' apart on trellis, fence, or wall. Or grow in a pot in the greenhouse or indoors, moving the plant to larger containers as the plant grows. Outside zones are 9-10.

Prickly Pear Hardy Cactus aka Nopal - Opuntia tuna
Cactus Hardy Prickly Pear A large padded prickly pear native cactus with yellow, similar to rose, spring flowers. Fruits ripen Oct-Nov in Zone 7 and can be harvested well into the winter. Plant spreads to make a clump. Medium sized red fruit @ 3" long. Remove small thorns from skin of fruit before handling or eating. Handle with barbeque tongs when planting. De-thorned pads are also used as a vegetable. For cactus "string beans", cut pads in long strips and grill or saute. Fruit pulp is an excellent addition to fruit salads, lending its intense red color as well as flavor. A less care four season ornamental. Space 6' circle Zones 7-9 Zone 6 plant out of the winter prevailing wind

Dragon Fruit Red - Hylocereus Undatus
Dragon Fruit  in pots Called Red Dragon fruit because of the intensely red and healthy fruit. Needs a mate to pollinate, we suggest the White Dragon Fruit. The plant is tropical, can be used as a house plant. Needs support because its vine like in habit. Blooms large white flowers at night like its relative the night blooming cereus, a popular house plant. Space outside @ 8-10' apart depending on what it grows on. Zones 9 - 10.
