Ginkgo biloba
A grand ornamental with distinct fan-shaped leaves, Ginkgo are the oldest cultivated nut tree. The nuts are delicious with a cheese-like texture when steamed, excellent in any rice dish. The leaf extract is very popular for medicinal properties. Fossils have shown Ginkgo growing on earth for over 150 million years, outliving dinosaurs. Leaf fall color is aspen yellow. Tree height can be up to 30' in full sun. We offer male and female plants. Both are needed to make fruit. Let us know which one you need. Males are usually planted as street trees etc. and will not set fruit. Zones 5-8.
