Amber Autumn Olive - Elaeagnus umbellata
Autumn Olive Amber Amber Autumn Olive gives an abundance of golden yellow berries in September. The fruits are sweet and astringent and soft seeded. They are a colorful addition to fall fruit salads or green garden salads. Amber Autumn Olive is not bothered by pests or diseases and is self fertile. Mature height about 10'-12'. Hardy to about -35°F. Produces 2nd year after planting. Blooms early May, ripens around September. Productive. Hardy to zone 4. Space 6-10 foot circles. The species Eleagnus umbellatta is on some states invasive species list. Zones 4-8

Oleaster Silverberry Elaeagnus - Elaeagnus X ebbingei
Oleaster Silverberry Elaeagnus is a showy, edible bush. In Zones 7-9 the plant is evergreen. It can lose leaves in Zone 7 depending on winter weather conditions. The leaves are lustrous green on top and silvery underneath. The bush blooms very fragrant, creamy white small flowers in October and November and fruits 1/2 inch long single seeded reddish brown fruits in the spring. No serious pests or diseases. Oleaster can be planted as a large hedge, background plant, screen, or for erosion control. Oleaster is a cross between Elaeagnus macrophylla X E. pungens. Plant is self fertile. 8' to 10' in height and the same width. Zones 7-9
