Austin has a very large fruit, usually a pound or better. Austin has more juice than the variety in the food stores called Wonderful. The sweet Juice has just a hint of tartness and is superior to many sweet varieties. Originating in Syria, brought to the US by a gentleman in Austin, TX. Zones 7b - 8. It would be wise to plant the Austin out of winter winds in Zone 7. Zone 7 space about 10' circle. Zone 8 12 - 15' circle.

Requires 150 - 200 hours chilling below 45*F.
