Persimmon Giombo

Giombo Persimmon

Diospyros kaki

Giombo is a very large, excellent tasting, soft when ripe Asian persimmon. This medium size tree, about 15', can produce softball size fruit. The texture and sweetness is of very high quality. Leaves turn red in the fall. An excellent choice for the deep south and South Texas. Two of our customers from Texas have told us it is their favorite out of several varieties. Usually seedless, Giombo ripens late and the tree is ornamental. Space 12' to 15' circle. Zone 7-9
