Diospyros

Ichi bears large fruit, usually eaten while still firm like an apple. The tree is small, annually productive and cold hardy. Plants are self-fertile with seedless early ripening fruit. Tree shape is round and spreading, very ornamental with fruit throughout the tree. Good dwarf specimen anywhere in the yard or near the house. Has orange in leaves as far as its fall color and will hold fruits after leaves drop. Height around 8'. Space 10' circle Zones 6-10.
