Grafted, pretty ornamental, evergreen. Day is hardy to 22 degrees F when completely dormant. If your plant has active growth these low temps will kill it. The fruit is large, up to 16 oz. with buttery flesh. Produces July through September. Space @ 15'. Zone 9-10.

| Winter Mexican Avocado |
Of the three types of Avocados: West Indian, Mexican and Guatemalan, the Mexican and its hybrids are the hardiest. Mexican is black to purple skinned and has very good flavor. The leaves start out dark like the skin of the fruit and green up as they get more mature. Soil, either in a pot or in the ground, should be well drained. Flowers are not showy. Will fruit in a larger pot, usually at 25 gallons.

The high quality Brogdon avocado is black, smooth skinned and weighs about 8 to 12 ounces. The pulp is firm and has a delicious nutty flavor. this medium-sized, slender tree is cold tolerant to 22 degrees and produces July through September. The trees generally set fruit the third year. This tree prefers full sun, adequate moisture and good drainage.Can be grown in a pot. Space for ground planting @ 15 feet. Zones 9-10
