Citrus Satsuma

Owari Satsuma Tangerine

Citrus reticulata

The very largest fruit of the mandarin family and well known for its cold tolerance. This tree is found throughout FL and in the coastal areas of GA, AL, MS, LA and SC. Fruit ripens very early in the season. Honey-sweet, seedless and very juicy, Satsumas large segments separate easily. Even the youngest child can enjoy this "Zipper peel" fruit. We offer Satsuma Mandarin on three different rootstocks usually. If you're going to grow it in a pot choose macrophylla first. Carrizo citrange and trifoliate work for pots but are hardy for planting outside. Trifoliate is the hardiest rootstock for planting outside. Space outside @ 8' circle. Zones 8b-10.
