Asimina triloba – Mango Pawpaw

Mango Pawpaw is a delightful fruit variety obtained from a collector in Tifton, Georgia. Known for its large, native, early-ripening fruits, this pawpaw features yellow flesh with a taste reminiscent of mango and a smooth texture that makes it a favorite among fruit enthusiasts.

Key Features:

  • Spacing: Trees can be planted as close as 6 feet apart or in 14-foot circles for optimal growth.
  • Pollination: Best results occur when trees are planted near one another. To ensure cross-pollination, select a different variety if ordering a grafted plant. Seedlings of either the pawpaw or native pawpaw can cross-pollinate each other. For example, two seedling Mango Pawpaw trees will pollinate each other, but two grafted Mango Pawpaw trees will not.
