Fragaria vesca - Alexandra Alpine Strawberry
The Alexandra alpine strawberry features deep red, flavorful fruits. This everbearing plant sets fruit buds when nighttime temperatures fall below 50°F. It produces no runners and grows in a clumping fashion. The plant reaches a height of 6–10 inches and is ideal as ground cover, in rock gardens, or along borders. Native to the Scandinavian forests of Europe, the fruit is soft, gourmet, and delicious. Suitable for USDA Hardiness Zones 3-7. Space plants 1 foot apart in a circle. Pictured is a 3/4-gallon size.
