Vaccinium vitis-idaea 'Balsgard'
'Balsgard' is the result of a Swedish breeding project that began in 1978. It is currently the largest lingonberry variety available and bears very heavily. The plant is upright, compact, and adaptable. The ideal planting bed should contain organic matter such as composted leaves, one to two-year-old wood chips, and peat moss. This variety is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 2-8, with recommended spacing of 1' in a circular pattern.
