Rubus idaeus (Double Gold)

Double Gold is a vigorous, disease-resistant raspberry variety known for its flavorful, golden champagne-colored fruit. The fruit has a distinctive conical shape and a delicate taste, making it a favorite in taste tests. However, the fruit is too delicate for long-distance shipping, which makes it ideal for home gardeners.

The "double" in its name refers to the two harvests per season. The first crop is produced in the fall on the tips of the current year's canes, and the second crop is harvested from farther down the same canes the following summer.

Double Gold is resistant to Phytophthora root rot and most common leaf diseases. It thrives in Zones 5-8 and should be spaced in a 5' circle or 3' apart in 5' wide beds.
