Prunus persica - Bonfire Patio Peach

The Bonfire Peach is a compact, dwarf variety with striking purple foliage. It produces white-fleshed fruit streaked with red, ripening in late summer (around the first week of September at the nursery). The clingstone fruit is firm, ideal for canning, pickling, and pies, but can be eaten fresh though it may be rubbery. When cooked, the fruit turns red and makes a beautiful pie. This variety is perfect as a landscape specimen with showy, pink double flowers and can even be grown in a patio pot. Space it in a 6' circle. Hardy in Zones 5-9 (PP #8509).
