Olive Europa - Arbequina Olive
The Arbequina olive is a self-pollinating, compact variety that ripens to a black color. Known for its early ripening, this Spanish variety produces high-quality olives and oil. It can thrive in pots and is an attractive ornamental plant. Best suited for USDA Zones 8-10, it is important to note that olives may not perform consistently in the southern U.S. due to high humidity. However, reports from Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC, and other areas in Zone 8 have been promising for the Arbequina variety.
