Zingiber officinale (Ginger)

Ginger is a perennial plant with a spreading habit, known for its spicy tubers, which are harvested annually. It should be spaced in 2-foot circles, as it will eventually spread outward. Best suited for Zones 8-10. In Zone 7 and colder zones, ginger can be grown as an annual or in pots. It thrives in regions where the lowest temperatures range between 40°F and 0°F.
