Passiflora incarnata  - Passion Flower

Note: Due to import restrictions, Passion Flower cannot be shipped to Hawaii.

These passionflowers are grown from seed. 2 seedlings will cross pollinate. We do not know what color these flowers will be, they could range from white to purple/blue or a slight mix. But are still productive.

The Passion Flower is a hardy, perennial vine native to the eastern US. It has lacy, twining foliage and large, showy flowers with a lemon-musk scent. Though it dies back in winter, it regrows vigorously each spring, blooming and fruiting every season. The light green fruits have a tart apricot flavor, perfect for making a refreshing drink with the unmistakable taste of passion fruit (think Hawaiian Punch). The fruits should be eaten when ripe, falling easily from the vine. Leaves can be consumed raw in salads or cooked.

Best planted in a contained area, as it can spread. The native bumblebee is the plant's best pollinator.
