Prunus persica – Indian Blood Cling Peach
Due to import regulations, we are unable to ship Peach to CA, WA.
A beautiful, pink-flowering, disease-resistant peach variety. Introduced by the Spaniards to Mexico in the 16th century, this unique peach spread northward via native tribes and traders. By the 17th century, European explorers in southeastern North America were surprised to find it widely cultivated. The Indian Blood Cling can be grown from seed, making it easy to propagate.
This variety resists brown rot as effectively as patio peaches and is more resistant to insect damage than most peach varieties. The fruit is large, historically used for storage and canning during colonial times. It features striking red stripes throughout the flesh, with a deep red hue surrounding the seed. The firm flesh is pleasantly tart, unlike the melting texture of Red Haven.
