Zizyphus jujuba – Lang Jujube

The Lang Jujube produces large, bell-shaped fruits that ripen about a month later than the Li variety. The fruits are delicious when eaten fresh, right from the tree.

The tree itself is attractive, with glistening, olive-shaped leaves. Small, fragrant yellow flowers bloom in June, emitting a sweet scent reminiscent of grape soda, particularly at twilight. These blooms are never harmed by late spring frosts.

Native to China, the jujube tree adapts well to the U.S. and thrives in various climates.
