Ribes rubrum - Red Lake

Red Lake is an extremely ornamental, mounding shrub that grows 3'-5' tall and 3'-5' wide. It features large clusters of flavorful, bright red berries and makes an excellent hedge. Red Lake is very cold-hardy and thrives in mid-afternoon shade, which is recommended for warmer summer climates. It prefers well-drained, fertile soil, and adding organic mulch is beneficial for clay soils. The plant is self-fertile and suitable for USDA Zones 3-7.
