Fragaria × ananassa ‘Sweet Charlie’
‘Sweet Charlie’ was the first patented strawberry released by the University of Florida. It produces large, conical fruit with outstanding sweetness and rich flavor—winning the taste test at the 1994 North Carolina Strawberry Growers Meeting.
The plants have a compact growth habit with dark green foliage, and the fruit truly lives up to its name. ‘Sweet Charlie’ performs especially well in warmer climates and is well suited for home gardens and southern growers.
