Fragaria vesca ‘Yellow Wonder’ (Yellow Wonder Alpine Strawberry)

‘Yellow Wonder’ is a classic alpine strawberry prized for its sweet, pineapple-like flavor and creamy yellow fruit. Unlike modern garden strawberries, this heirloom selection of Fragaria vesca produces small, intensely aromatic berries over a long season.

The pale yellow fruit is less attractive to birds than red varieties, making harvest easier for gardeners. Plants are compact and tidy, forming attractive clumps of soft green foliage with delicate white spring flowers followed by continuous flushes of fruit from late spring through frost in favorable conditions.

Unlike many garden strawberries, ‘Yellow Wonder’ typically produces few to no runners, making it easy to maintain in borders, raised beds, containers, or edible landscapes.
