Malus spp - Pristine

Pristine is an early-ripening yellow apple, ripening even earlier than William's Pride. The bright yellow fruit reliably ripens in early summer and has a crisp, zesty texture and good flavor for such an early apple. An excellent fresh-eating apple, especially for the early season. Fruit also makes good applesauce and is a good substitute for Lodi, with considerably better quality for fresh eating. A good keeper for an early apple.

Pristine has good resistance to cedar apple rust and apple scab, although it can be susceptible to spur blight during wet springs. Space 10' circles for dwarf trees, 15' for semi-dwarf, and 25' for standard trees. Zones 5–7.
