Pyrus pyrifolia - Tennosui Asian Pear

Tennosui Asian Pear is thought to be a chance cross between Tennessee pear and Hosui Asian pear. It produces early-ripening, bell-shaped fruit that stays crisp after cutting and resists browning. The fruit ripens in early to mid-August and shows good resistance to fire blight, making it a strong choice where blight is a concern. With around 400 chill hours and self-fertile bloom, it is an excellent option when only one Asian pear can be planted. Space in a 10′ circle. Hardy in USDA Zones 5–8.
