The Vernon blueberry is a hardy and adaptable southern variety, known for its firm berries with good to excellent flavor and large size. Its blooming time avoids late frosts, making it a reliable choice for many climates. Although self-fertile, it can benefit from cross-pollination with another variety. Vernon is a vigorous plant with high, consistent yields. It was introduced by the University of Georgia and is suitable for Zones 6-8, with a recommended spacing of 5 feet.
