Prunus tomentosa ( Ian Nanking Cherry)
Due to import restrictions we are unable to ship Cherries to CA, Europe...
This is considered the sweetest of all Nanking cherries. A hardy bush-type cherry, it produces fruit larger than most other Nanking varieties. Ideal for full sun, it can be used as a foundation plant, a fruitful hedge, or even grown in containers. Nanking cherries are not always self-fertile, so it’s recommended to plant at least two to ensure fruit set.
Due to import restrictions, we are unable to ship cherries to CA, Europe, and other regions.
Description: The White Nanking Cherry is the best variety for eating fresh. We have three different stock plants of Nanking White cherries: Gabe #1, Ian #2, and Jules #3. When ordering more than one white-fruiting Nanking, choose a red Nanking or a different white variety for cross-pollination. Notably, the Ian White Nanking performs well in drought conditions, including temperatures exceeding 100°F in Texas. For landscape use, Japanese plums bloom later but overlap with the Nanking cherry's bloom.
