Citrofortunella mitis (Calamondin Orange)

This extremely cold-hardy ornamental mandarin is beautiful year-round. Its small, oval, red-orange fruit appear on the tree at all times due to its everbearing nature. The fruit can be preserved whole or used to make marmalade. It is also excellent as a container tree. When fully ripe, the rind is sweet with a tart center, making it ideal for citrus drinks. "Calimasi" drinks are sold by vendors in the Philippines.
