Ribes sativum (Cherry Red Currant)

Cherry Red currant produces short, loose clusters of very large, bright dark red berries. The fruit is acidic and has a good flavor. The plant itself is vigorous, upright, and highly productive. Cherry Red currant is resistant to mildew, making it a great option for humid areas. This small bush is well-suited for landscapes, thriving in shade, especially against buildings, and can be paired with strawberries, low-growing herbs, or flowers. It can also be mixed with Josta or white/black currants, as they have similar sizes and growth habits. Space plants 5 feet apart in a 5-foot circle.
