Asimina triloba – Susquehanna Pawpaw

Susquehanna is the largest and latest-ripening of Neal Peterson's fabulous pawpaw introductions. Fruits are exceptionally large, sometimes weighing over a pound, with plentiful flesh and very few seeds. Richly flavored and delicious, with a combination of great sweetness, exceptional fleshiness, and a firm, buttery texture similar to avocado.

The thickish skin and firm texture make Susquehanna less fragile than most pawpaw varieties. It has the fewest seeds of any variety, only about 0.3% by weight. An especially beautiful ornamental tree for the home landscape. Space 14' circle. Zones 5–8.
