Pawpaw aka Paw paw
One of the most common questions we receive is, "Are they grafted or seed-grown?"
All of our named varieties are grafted, ensuring they remain true to their name. Seed-grown pawpaw, on the other hand, do not grow true to the mother plant—each seedling is genetically unique.
Once established, Pawpaw (Asiminia tribola) thrive with little care. Rarely bothered by pests or diseases, they bear in a wide variety of soils and climates. Two plants are needed for pollination. In late summer, fruit turns a faint yellow-green when ripe. Hardy to -31F. Leaves are aspen yellow in the fall. The zebra swallowtail exclusively picks Pawpaw trees to hatch their young. George Washington's favorite dessert was chilled Pawpaw. Height about 20'. Zones 5-8.
