The Magness Pear is an easy-to-care-for, disease-resistant tree that produces sweet, perfumed fruit typically ready for harvest around August 26th in Virginia. Its buttery, melting flavor rivals that of the popular Comice pear, which is known for its rich taste but is highly susceptible to fire blight.

In areas like Virginia, where fire blight is a concern, Magness proves to be a reliable choice. It grows well in regions such as Mississippi and Louisiana, and is hardy in Michigan.
