Fragaria virginiana (Virginia Native Strawberry)
A true North American native, Virginia Native Strawberry is a hardy perennial that spreads by runners to form a soft, fragrant ground cover. In spring, plants produce delicate white flowers followed by small, intensely flavored strawberries in late spring to early summer.
The fruit is aromatic and sweet with classic wild strawberry flavor. This species spreads naturally, making it an excellent edible ground cover for borders, woodland edges, meadows, and naturalized plantings.
