Ribes grossularia × nigrum – Jostaberry
Jostaberry is a unique hybrid from Europe, combining the best traits of gooseberries and black currants. This vigorous and healthy shrub produces ½-inch black fruits that are excellent for freezing.
- Growth & Fruiting: Fruits later than most Ribes, typically in the third or fourth year.
- Thorns & Aroma: Thornless with no pungent aroma.
- Pruning & Maintenance: Rust-resistant with little to no pruning required.
