Prunus jacquemontii x japonica – Joy Bush Cherry

🚫 Due to import restrictions, we are unable to ship cherries to CA.

After 25 years of dedication, fruit breeder Elwyn Meader of New Hampshire introduced Joy, a compact, easy-to-care-for fall-bearing bush cherry. At just 4' tall, its bloom and form resemble a flowering almond, making it both an ornamental and a fruiting plant. The sour cherry-like fruits ripen in late summer and are not bothered by birds.

Key Benefits

  • Fruits in just one year after planting
  • Highly resistant to powdery mildew and cherry worms
  • Requires no spraying
  • Very hardy (-31°F in Buckfield, ME)
