KSU Atwood Pawpaw (Asimina triloba)

The first cultivar released from Kentucky State University’s breeding program in 2009, KSU Atwood is a large, round pawpaw with a mango-like flavor and excellent taste. It has very little leaf spot and was originally selected from a seedling in Maryland. Named in honor of Rufus B. Atwood, president of Kentucky State University (1929-1962). The fruit has greenish-blue skin, yellow to orange flesh, and few seeds. KSU Atwood is a trademarked variety owned by Kentucky State University.
