Asimina triloba ‘KSU-Benson™’ (KSU-Benson Pawpaw)

Another excellent introduction from Kentucky State University, ‘KSU-Benson™’ is a heavy-producing pawpaw known for its reliable yields and high-quality fruit. The fruit is round, medium-sized, with a rich, excellent flavor and smooth texture.

Trees typically begin bearing in 3 to 5 years after planting. Fruit ripens in September through October, extending the pawpaw harvest season. The tree has a manageable growth habit, reaching an average height of 12 to 15 feet.

As with most pawpaws, ‘KSU-Benson™’ requires a different pawpaw variety for cross-pollination to ensure good fruit set.
