Citrus sinensis 'Moro' – Moro Blood Orange
Due to import restrictions, we are unable to ship citrus to the following states: CA, TX, AZ, FL, LA, HI, PR, and other U.S. citrus-producing/quarantined territories.
Moro is one of the most popular and widely grown blood oranges, prized for its exceptionally sweet flavor, deep burgundy flesh, and strikingly pigmented rind. Originating in Europe, this variety produces medium-sized, oval fruit with rich red coloration that intensifies under cool fall temperatures. The flavor is complex and refreshing, combining the sweetness of a traditional orange with subtle berry-like notes.
A cool, dry autumn encourages the development of the brilliant red pigmentation for which Moro is famous. The fruit stores exceptionally well on the tree, allowing for an extended harvest period while maintaining excellent eating quality. The attractive fruit is excellent for fresh eating and produces richly colored juice ideal for sauces, glazes, cocktails, and sangria.
Trees are productive, ornamental, and evergreen, making them attractive additions to landscapes in suitable climates or as container specimens in colder regions.
