Aronia melanocarpa ‘Nero’ – Nero Aronia
Black Aronia (also called “chokeberry”) is a hardy shrub growing about 6–8' with larger glossy black fruit than seedling types. Fruit is high in antioxidants and commonly used for juice, preserves, wine, and drying. White flowers bloom in spring followed by black berries in late summer and vivid red foliage in fall. Tolerates wet sites, sun or partial shade. Self fertile and generally free of disease or insect problems. Space 6–8' circle. Zones 3–8.
