Ribes rubrum 'Primus'

A compact bush with long fruit clusters, Primus is highly productive, yielding up to 20 pounds of fruit per bush. The fruit color is lighter than other white currants. It is self-fertile, like most currants. This cultivar was released from Slovakia in 1977 from a cross between Heinemann's Rote Spatlese and Red Lake. It thrives in Zones 3-7 and requires a 5-foot circle of space.
