Citrus reticulata – Hardy Satsuma
Due to import restrictions, Satsuma citrus cannot be shipped to FL, AZ, TX, LA, CA, HI, PR.
Hardy Satsuma is one of the most cold-tolerant sweet citrus varieties, valued for its easy-to-peel fruit, excellent flavor, and reliable production in mild winter climates. The fruit is typically seedless to low-seeded with tender, juicy segments and a rich, sweet flavor that makes it one of the best fresh-eating citrus types.
Trees are evergreen, productive, and relatively compact, making them well suited for home gardens and protected landscape plantings. Fruit ripens in fall to early winter and often improves in sweetness after exposure to cool nighttime temperatures.
Best performance is achieved in full sun with well-drained soil. Young trees should be protected from hard freezes, especially in borderline climates.
