Vaccinium corymbosum × ‘Star’ (Star Southern Highbush Blueberry)

‘Star’ is a southern highbush blueberry introduced in 1996 by the University of Florida. It grows 6–10 feet tall (reaching up to 10 feet in the Deep South) and is known for its very large fruit with an attractive, star-shaped calyx. Widely considered one of the sweetest blueberries we offer, it delivers excellent flavor and high-quality berries.

This variety ripens early but blooms about 10 days later than many early types, helping it avoid late frosts. Most ripe berries on young plants can be harvested in two pickings, while mature plants may produce up to eight pickings per season.

‘Star’ is highly adaptable to soil types and shows resistance to root and leaf diseases, including Botryosphaeria stem blight.
