Asimina triloba – Tallahatchie Pawpaw
Tallahatchie is the seventh pawpaw introduction from Neal Peterson. Notable for having 5% or fewer seeds and exquisite flavor with floral notes. The silky smooth texture makes it a favorite for pawpaw ice cream and excellent for fresh eating.
Tallahatchie often bears 5 or more fruits in a single cluster, a wonderful characteristic for backyard growers. In larger orchards, thinning may be desirable to even out the harvest, as fruits within a cluster often do not ripen at the same time. Medium to large fruit averages about 9 oz. Ripens mid to late season. Zones 5–8. Space 12–14' circle.
