Diospyros kaki (Fuyugaki Persimmon)

Due to import restrictions, Fuyugaki persimmon cannot be shipped to California.

The Fuyugaki persimmon ripens about one month later than some of the newer varieties. It is a highly popular variety, especially in southern regions, and was once one of the few options available through mail order. The fruit is large, crisp, and ready to eat as soon as it develops its full color. The tree has a compact growth habit, reaching a height of 15 to 20 feet, with a recommended spacing of a 15-foot circle. Suitable for Zones 7–9.
