Diospyros kaki (Giombo)
Due to import restrictions, we are unable to ship Giombo Persimmon to California, Europe, and Canada.
The Giombo persimmon is a large, excellent-tasting Asian variety known for its soft, sweet fruit when ripe. This medium-sized tree, reaching about 15 feet in height, produces softball-sized fruit. The texture and sweetness of the fruit are of very high quality, and the leaves turn red in the fall, adding to its ornamental appeal. Giombo is an excellent choice for the deep south and South Texas, where it has become a favorite among some of our customers. Typically seedless, Giombo ripens late in the season. Space trees 12 to 15 feet apart. Best suited for Zones 7-9.
