Diospyros kaki – Hira Tanenashi Asian Persimmon
Due to import regulations, we are unable to ship Persimmon to California.
Hira Tanenashi is a hardy Asian persimmon variety that, when fully dormant, can withstand temperatures as low as -40°F, as experienced in northern Japan. However, due to the East Coast's fluctuating springtime temperatures and late frosts, I do not recommend growing it in areas with winters as cold as -10°F. The fruit is medium-sized, orange, and of excellent quality with an appealing appearance. It is sweet when the flesh is soft, and the tree bears high annual yields with early ripening.
