Corylus americana - Sun Harvest
Large Nuts – Heavy Yields – Great for Fresh Eating and Roasting
A standout variety for the home orchardist and edible landscape, Sun Harvest Filbert is prized for its consistent productivity and exceptional nut quality. This vigorous, medium-sized shrub produces large, round hazelnuts with rich, buttery flavor and thin, easy-to-crack shells. Nuts ripen in early to mid-autumn and are excellent for fresh eating, roasting, or grinding into nut butter or flour.
Sun Harvest is partially self-fertile but benefits from a pollinizer such as Jefferson, Eta, or Theta to maximize yields. The tree has a naturally attractive shape and tolerates pruning well, making it a great fit for edible hedgerows or as a specimen shrub. Resistant to Eastern Filbert Blight in most regions, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun.
A wonderful addition to sustainable landscapes, the Sun Harvest Filbert provides beauty, shade, and nutritious homegrown food year after year.
