Corylus americana (American Hazelnut)
A beautiful hedge shrub that grows 6-8 feet tall. Native to the eastern U.S., it requires two plants to set fruit. Features showy catkins in the spring, and small, sweet nuts ripen in August. Space plants 6 feet apart in a circular arrangement. Suitable for USDA Zones 5-8.
