Diospyros virginiana 'Prairie Sun™' – American Persimmon
Due to import restrictions, we are unable to ship persimmon trees to California.
Prairie Sun™ is an outstanding American persimmon selection producing attractive yellow-orange fruit with excellent sweetness and a pleasant, firm texture when fully ripe. The flavorful fruit is well suited for fresh eating and makes an excellent addition to the home orchard or edible landscape.
Trees are vigorous, hardy, and adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions. Prairie Sun™ is self-fertile, making it a good choice for growers with limited space, though additional persimmon varieties may improve overall fruit production. Fruit ripens in late September, extending the harvest season with dependable crops of high-quality fruit.
American persimmons are known for their ornamental value as well as their productivity. Glossy green foliage, attractive fruit, and excellent cold hardiness make Prairie Sun™ a valuable landscape tree throughout much of the United States.
