Diospyros virginiana ‘Wells’ — Wells Persimmon

Due to import restrictions we are unable to ship Persimmons to CA.

Wells Persimmon was selected from wild stock in Salem, Indiana, by David Wells in 1990 and developed for improved fruiting. This cultivar ripens in mid to late September, producing fruit of medium size (~105 g each, with around 65 fruit per mature tree). It is typically grown in USDA Zones 6–8 (possibly down to Zone 5, depending on local conditions). Trees should be spaced in approximately 15‑ft circles for proper growth.
